Eller charged with drunken driving
NFL Hall of Famer Carl Eller was charged Tuesday with drunken driving, and a prosecutor said the former Minnesota Viking likely faces probation and community service if convicted. A Minnesota State Patrol trooper clocked Eller driving at 97 mph in a 55-mph zone and reported him driving erratically on Interstate 394 in Golden Valley early Sunday, the criminal complaint said. The trooper pulled Eller over and noticed that his eyes were bloodshot and that he smelled of alcohol, the complaint said.
Travis Claridge found dead at 27
Former Atlanta Falcons offensive lineman Travis Claridge, who played for Hamilton of the Canadian Football League last year, died Tuesday after being found unconscious at his home in Las Vegas, according to the CFL team. The 27-year-old Claridge died after being taken to a hospital, the team announced. The cause of death was not specified. “Our thoughts and prayers are with his family,” Tiger-Cats general manager Rob Katz said in a statement. “This is a sad day for the Tiger-Cats family.

Pennington wants to stay with Jets
Chad Pennington wants to stay with the New York Jets and hopes to come to an agreement with the team on a renegotiated contract.
