Ex-Steeler Swann appears closer to GOP nod
Former Pittsburgh Steelers star Lynn Swann appears to have locked up enough support to win the Republican Party nomination for Pennsylvania governor.

Holmgren, Cowher not entirely different people
It’s an 8-year-old snapshot of Bill Cowher that endures: the Pittsburgh coach brandishing a fist at Jacksonville’s Chris Hudson as he races past the Steelers bench en route to a game-clinching touchdown. “Intense” is the word it conjures – a word most often used to describe Cowher. It might have been more: as he clenched that fist, Cowher looked like he might jump on the field and tackle Hudson.

Roethlisberger could take an even bigger step

Security increases on highway to Super Bowl
The road to the Super Bowl runs through Ohio for Pittsburgh Steelers fans – at least those driving to the game in Detroit. The Ohio Turnpike is quickest route for the 4 1/2-hour, 285-mile trip from the Steel City to the Motor City. With that in mind, the Ohio State Highway Patrol is gearing up for the anticipated Black-and-Gold caravan. State troopers have increased their patrols, including more radar to help enforce the speed limit, said Sgt. Tony Bradshaw, a spokesman for the highway patrol.

Lewis says he will deal with Henry January 31st, Receiver Chris Henry’s weekend arrest on gun charges may jeopardize his future with the Cincinnati Bengals. The third-round draft pick from West Virginia was arrested in Orlando, Fla., in a weekend street altercation, authorities said. He was already facing drug charges that resulted from a traffic stop last month in the Cincinnati area.
